Larry and Leigh Hinkel

Larry and Leigh Hinkel left for the city of Porto Velho, Amazonas in the Amazon jungle of Brazil on May 3, 1999. They are both excited about the new opportunities awaiting them there.

Larry will be involved in evangelism and aviation and Leigh plans to start a clinic as well as work among the tribes. Raised in Africa, Larry has worked as a missionary in El Salvador and Mozambique in the areas of aviation and evangelism. Leigh has worked as a missionary in Colombia, Mexico, El Salvador and the Dominican Republic as well as with Hispanics in the U.S. Her mission experience includes working in the areas of church planting, children's ministry, mercy (relief) work and medical work.

Larry graduated from the Rift Valley Academny in Kenya, Africa and attended LeTourneau College in Longview, Texas. Leigh graduated from the Savannah Christian Preparatiory School in Savannah, Georgia and pursued her college degree at Johnson Bible College in Knoxville, Tennessee. Lary and Leigh were married in May, 1996.
